The Customer agrees to the exclusive personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts.

Listbox Anti-Spam Policy. IC Group has zero tolerance for those who use their mailing list in conjunction with spamming. Listbox mailing lists are strictly opt-in, as described in the LISTBOX ANTI-SPAM AND OPT-IN SUBSCRIPTION POLICY, and customers may not use their address to distribute any unsolicited mail, opt-out lists, or illegal material. Listowners may not restrict the ability of their list subscribers to unsubscribe from their list, or refuse to unsubscribe any subscriber who has requested it. List subscribers are the source of our information about whether or not they requested to receive your list. Any use of a list in conjunction with spam will result in a fine of $5,000. If you fail to pay this fine we will turn it over to a collection agency. IC Group, at its sole discretion, may terminate Service if the Customer fails to comply with any of the terms of the Service Agreement, or for any other reason that IC Group considers compelling.

1.2. Privacy Policy

This policy covers how IC Group treats personal information that we collect and receive through our and web sites. Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable, such as your name, address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.

Your Personal Information
When you register with us, we ask for your name, mailing address, telephone numbers, and a security question of your choosing. We collect, store, and use this personal information to confirm your identity when you contact us, and to contact you regarding your account. We also use cookies as described below. If you do not provide that information accurately, you reduce our ability to confirm your identity as the account holder. IC Group is not liable for any changes made to your account as a result of our inability to confirm your identity.

Because we do not derive income from advertising, we do not aggregate your personal information for marketing purposes. However, we may use your data to determine some basic information about our user base (for example, how many customers do we have in a particular country.)

We do not sell, loan, lease, give away, share or in any other way make your personal information or your Listbox address available to parties other than IC Group, Inc. and its affiliates, except:

  • When you have given us permission (example: to deal with another company on your behalf);
  • When you have violated our Terms of Service, and misused your Listbox account for spam or other prohibited uses;
  • In the event of a merger or a transfer of all or substantially all our assets to a third party, provided that we will notify you before personal information becomes subject to a different privacy policy;
  • To comply with law or legal process (subpoenas), or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims. If your information has been subpoenaed from us, you will be informed unless we are specifically barred from doing so by the subpoena.

Accessing and Changing Your Account Information
You can access and edit your account information at any time. In fact, we encourage you to keep this information up to date, lest we try to call you and find the phone number disconnected. Your personal information can be edited at

Your account can be canceled at any time by responding to invoices with "cancel", or by contacting our Customer Service staff at If you ask us to delete your account, your account will usually be deactivated and deleted from our user registration database within 1 hour. Please note that information may remain in back-up storage for some further period of time.

We have physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect personal information about you; however we cannot guarantee that someone won't be able to circumvent these safeguards. These safeguards include, but are not limited to, mandating password protection for all accounts, confirming that a request to send personal information or passwords to email addresses not listed in an account was submitted by a person authorized to do so for that account, encrypting credit card and password information within our system, and taking measures to protect our servers, databases and other system components against intrusions, tampering, and other attacks.

We do not sell advertising space on any of our websites. You may see notices about our own products, but we do not use your eyeballs to make money.

We also do not distribute ads by email, either to Listbox listowners or through our mailing lists. We do not even tell you about our own products, except if you asked us to, or there is a change that will affect or has affected your service (recent examples: the @Home outage, changes to SMTP service.)

We do use cookies. Why? It's the simplest way, technically, to allow you to use our website. We know that it would be possible to run the site without cookies, but it is a needless complication. Here's what our cookies do:

  • If you check the box that says "Remember my username in the future", we put a cookie on your machine that does exactly that. It doesn't expire, because it would be useless if it did.

  • If you don't check that box, you will get a cookie once your password has been authorized. It will authorize your browser to access your session. Your session contains information about who you logged in as, which list you are using, and any messages you may be writing or files you may be importing. This insures you don't lose information if you accidentally close your browser window. This cookie expires when you log out, or after a year.

We do not issue third-party cookies. You will most likely receive cookies from one of these 3 domains:, and (our parent company.)

Customer Service and System Maintenance
All messages sent to our customer service department are saved indefinitely, and become our property. If you contact Customer Service, we reserve the right to change your account settings or send email to your account in order to solve the problem. You may also receive test emails if we detect a problem with your account, even if you have not contacted us.

Anonymity is not an anonymous remailer. Your forwarding address may be revealed to your correspondents through bounce messages.

Ownership Issues
All data, including emails, list content, subscriber lists and any list information disseminated through the or services, is the express property of the account owner and/or the author of a particular message.

List Privacy
We do not make any information about our lists public. There is no system-wide database of lists. We do not provide listnames to people making inquiries. All of our privacy policies apply to your list subscribers as well as yourself.

Information We Store
We do not store Pobox messages coming through our servers. Once we receive a message, we immediately attempt to process it, and send it to your forwarding address. We will keep that message in the following cases:

  • There is a problem with your forwarding address. We will attempt to resend the message for a maximum of 5 days.

  • You have set your email or spam filters to discard the message. We will keep the message for 2 weeks, in case you discarded something you wanted. Discards may also be used to tune the spam filters.

List messages are kept for up to 3 months, or up to 50 messages, whichever is higher, in order to provide a thorough archive for debugging problems.

Children under the age of 13 are not eligible to hold or accounts and should not submit any personal information to us.

Changes to the Policy
We reserve the right to update this privacy policy. If there are material changes, we will post notification prominently on our web site prior to implementing the changes.

1.3. Listbox Anti-Spam and Opt-In Subscription Policy

Listbox provides email distribution services for opt-in addresses only. Opt-in addresses mean that all addresses that you add to your Listbox list are from people who have actually asked to receive email from you, by either taking the initiative to add their email addresses to your list, or checking a box on a document provided by you indicating to you that they wish to receive mail from you in the future.

Opt-out addresses, or addresses collected from a form where people have to check to indicate they do NOT wish to receive mail, are a violation of Listbox Terms of Service. In that respect, any purchased, leased, or borrowed lists may not be used in conjunction with Listbox Service without an Affiliate Agreement on record with Listbox.

When uploading a subscriber file to Listbox, the listowner certifies that all email addresses in that file have been collected by verifiable opt-in methods. If you upload a subscriber file, Listbox has the right to review that file, request details on your collection methods and delay addition of the email addresses it contains, at our sole discretion.

In addition, every message sent through Listbox must contain a web-accessible method for subscribers to opt to leave your list after such subscriber is on your list. Subscribers who opt to leave your list are considered to have opted out and cannot be re-added to your list by you without having re-added themselves as described below. Subscribers may re-add themselves by confirming their wish to re-join the list, but you may not reactivate them without confirmation. Once a subscriber has opted out, you must cease sending emails to the subscriber's address promptly after you have received the opt-out request.

Subscribers may also be removed from your list by Listbox if they are determined to be bouncing or they have reported your message as spam.

Listbox requires all lists to be CAN-SPAM compliant. If your list sends commercial messages, or messages that include commercial content, your physical address must be included in the footer of every message. All header information included in any commercial emails must be accurate and may not be misleading. Misleading header information includes information that is technically accurate but includes an originating email address, domain name, or IP address that was obtained by false or fraudulent pretenses or misrepresentations. Subject headings that are misleading about the content or subject matter of the message are also prohibited.

Any use of a list in conjunction with spam or messages that do not follow our Opt-In Subscription policy will result in a fine of $5,000. If you fail to pay this fine we will turn it over to a collection agency.

IC Group, at its sole discretion, may terminate Service if the Customer fails to comply with any of the terms of the Service Agreement, or for any other reason that IC Group considers compelling.

2.1. How can I add or remove administrators?

Administrators can be added or removed on the Administrators page. To add an administrator, just enter their email address, and select the level of administrator they should be. To remove an administrator, find their address in the list of existing Administrators, and click "Member" to downgrade them to a normal list member. Their administrative rights will be removed, and their listing will be removed from the Administrators page.

You cannot change the settings of administrators who have more privileges than you. That is, only Account Administrators can add or remove Account Administrators. Listowners can add or remove Listowners or Moderators, but they cannot add Account Administrators.

2.2. How do I change my password?

Each listowner and moderator has their own password to log in to Listbox. To change your password, just click your name in the Welcome greeting at the top right of Home. (You can also search for your own name.) That will take you to your Subscriber page, and you can set your password there.

If you want to change a password for someone else, you will have an option to either resend them their current password, or have us create a new randomly generated password, which we will email them. For security reasons, the existing password will not be displayed.

2.3. Help! I've just been added as a listowner!

Getting started as a new listowner on an existing list can sometimes be more overwhelming than starting a new list. Your list is already running, and it's your job to keep it moving smoothly. But if you've never run a list before, you may not even know what you are supposed to be taking care of. Hopefully, this will help!

One of the biggest job of every listowner is managing list subscribers. With Listbox, subscribers can manage most of their own options on the web. If you weren't previously a member of your list, take a look at

Because you are a listowner, you have a password to access this area. Most list subscribers don't, though, so if they come here and enter the list email address and their email address, they can log in. (If you have the Modify Your Subscription link in your message footer, subscribers who click on it will be automatically be logged in to their settings without having to enter the list email address or their address.)

Get more details about Subscription Options available on the web for list subscribers.

All the options available to list subscribers on that page are also available to you on their subscriber page. To access a subscriber page, just go to the Subscriber List and click on the subscriber's email address, or search for them at the top of the page.

To add and remove subscribers, you can either import subscribers from a file, or paste addresses into the add/remove box. Both options can be found on the Subscribers page, as soon as you log in.

One of the biggest duties of listowners is sending messages. You can use the Listbox Composer to send a message at any time. If you want to have another listowner help you with a message, make sure you share your draft, so they can view it, too.

Find out more about Using the Message Composer

If your list accepts messages via email, you may also receive moderation requests. This is a confirmation email for messages we aren't sure we should send to the list. If we need to confirm a message, you'll get an email with the Subject:

Subject: [MODERATE test-mt]

Following the link in that message will take you to a page where you can review the message, and decide whether to send it to the list or delete it.

If you're getting a lot of these messages, you may need to check the posting restrictions for your list.

Hopefully, you've gotten a quick overview of the most important options for listowners. The Help section has lots of information about what Listbox has to offer, so we hope you'll take some time to check out other articles that might be important for your list.

And remember, we're always here to help! If you have a question that isn't answered here, just Contact Us!

2.4. Help! I've just been added as a moderator!

Being added as a new moderator to an existing list can be somewhat daunting. But have no fear; being a moderator is a snap!

How To Moderate

Your job is to review messages before they go out to the list. Any time a list message needs to be checked, you'll get an email. The email will include 2 parts:

Our Instructions This tells you, "Hey, look over this message and tell us if we should send it." It includes a link that will take you to our website. This is handy if your email program doesn't display the full message, or you've received several moderation requests all at once.

The Message to be Checked The full text of the list message that needs to be reviewed will be included. Please take a look at this message! If you approve messages without checking their content first, sooner or later, you will approve something that shouldn't have been sent.

Once you've looked at the message (or you've decided you're going to look at the message at the Listbox web site), just click the link in the instructions. It will take you to a page displaying the message we're asking you to review. You will see:

  • The From: email address
  • The message Subject: (which you can edit before sending)
  • The Message Delivery Time (which you can set before sending)

    1. Send To trial test: This will send the message to the list. If you do not choose a delivery time for your message, it will be sent as soon as you click this button.

    2. Discard: This message will be discarded, and not sent to the list.

Once you've handled this message, we will take you to the next message that needs moderation. This way, you can review all the messages that may need moderation. You can also view them as a list, and delete or send multiple messages at a time.

Hopefully, you've gotten a quick overview of the most important task for moderators. The Help section has lots of information about what Listbox has to offer, so we hope you'll take some time to check out other articles that might be important for your list.

And remember, we're always here to help! If you have a question that isn't answered here, just Contact Us!

3.1. How can I change the credit card used for monthly payments?

On the left side of the Account section, you will see a section marked "Your Balance".  If your balance is $0.00, you should see a link that says "Update Credit Card".  Clicking that link will take you to a form where you can update the credit card we bill monthly. If your account has a balance, click the link marked "Make Payment" to pay your balance.  Your account will be automatically updated to use the new credit card provided for future charges as well.

When you update your credit card, please make sure that the billing address for that credit card matches the billing address we have on record for you.  If the new credit card is billed to a different address, please follow the link to "Update Your Billing Address" as well.

We accept payments using Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and UnionPay.

3.2. Why can my credit card "not be charged"?

In general, if you are seeing the error "Your credit card could not be charged" on the front page, it means:

Your card provider declined the charge. This could be because of an overdue balance, because the card was flagged for possible security problems, or other issues that your card provider can tell you about.

The address and zip code on your Listbox account do not match the one for your credit card billing address. For the security of transactions, most credit card providers require that we provide your address as an additional verification method.  If you have recently changed the address and zip code on either your Listbox or your credit card account, those two pieces of information may no longer match.  Please update your Listbox account information to match that of your credit card.

3.3. Your Account, and Account Admininstrators

Your Account tab allows you to manage all the lists on your account, and is visible to account administrators. Account administrators have listowner privileges for all lists on their account. If you do not have an Account tab, you are a listowner or moderator, and may only access the list or lists you are administrating.

Accounts may have up to 5 account administrators. On the Account tab, account administrators may:

  • update the Organization name and address for the account
  • add, remove and update account administrators
  • make payment and view the account payment history
  • view active and inactive lists on the account
  • create new lists

What is the difference between an account administrator and a listowner?

An account administrator has full administrative privileges for all lists on an account, has access to all lists and can create new lists immediately. A listowner has administrative authority on their list, but cannot create new lists, and cannot view or modify other lists on their account. To add an account administrator or a listowner, please go to Administrators for the list that you wish that person to administrate.

3.4. How much will Listbox cost me?

Listbox charges by account. This means you are charged across all the lists on your account, and it adjusts to your actual usage each month.

Account (low-volume) pricing includes a monthly charge of $15, and charges by the number of deliveries. It includes the first 5,000 deliveries to the lists on your account. Additional deliveries are $3/1,000 deliveries up to the first 100,000 deliveries, $2.50/1,000 deliveries up to the first 200,000 deliveries, and $2/1,000 deliveries over 200,000 deliveries.

Discussion lists (listserves) may have single list pricing. Single list pricing is deprecated at this time, and does not provide access to the full range of Listbox features. If you are on a single list plan, please contact Customer Support for details about your account.

3.5. Adding a custom domain to your account

If you would like your list's email address to be at a domain or subdomain you control, you can add a custom domain to your account.

You do not need to add a custom domain to your account to have the From: address be at a domain you control. A custom domain is only necessary if your subscribers send email to the list (a discussion forum), and you want them to use an address instead of

The cost to add a custom domain is $100/year per domain. All the lists on your account can use the domain you have on your account (i.e. this is a per-domain, not per-list, charge.)

The domain must only handle mail for Listbox mailing lists. That is, if your business' email domain is, your lists cannot be They can be (or any other subdomain you choose.) This is necessary because we generate a number of system addresses for each list at that domain, so we need to receive all email for it.

To find out more, or to add a custom domain to your account, please contact Customer Service.

3.6. Suspending or Canceling your list

You may cancel, deactivate or temporarily suspend service for your list at any time at under "List Status" on the About Your List settings page.

Lists that have been suspended for more than 60 days will be removed from the Listbox system, so please make sure you download a copy of your subscriber list when deactivating service.
